About Us

In 1990 at the 50th Anniversary of the school band a small group of men came together with an idea of forming a band. Derived from their connections at high school, these men all had one thing in common: they had played together in the Brisbane Boys' College pipe band. After leaving BBC however these pipers and drummers had gone their seperate ways onto bigger and better things. A number of the guys who has once played for the school and held a continued love for the band decided to form a group for boys to join after they left school. The BBC Old Collegians' Pipe Band.

20 Years of a New Tradition

The OCAPB is well known to the pipe band followers of Brisbane as we continue to advertise ourselves through some really great performances. You may have even seen the OCA band "20th Anniversary" stubbie coolers floating around. It may have been what led you to this site. Wearing the Campbell of Argyll tartan we make various appearances every ANZAC Day performing in services and street marches in Jimboomba, Canungra and Beaudesert. Every year we return to play for the AVEO Retirement Village Spring Fair which is usually held in September. The band also competes at various competitions over the year, and has been hosting an annual Highland Ball since 2004 which is becoming more and more popular each year. As the band grows in numbers we hope to always maintain our close friendships for many years to come and continue on to our 25th Anniversary in 2015 with bigger and greater gigs. Although, that does mean we will need new stubbie coolers...
